From Potiskum to Every Doorstep
Shago Express was born out of a real frustration. In Potiskum, Yobe State — and across Northern Nigeria — accessing quality products at fair prices had always been a challenge. Long trips to city markets, unreliable sellers, and the fear of paying for something that never arrives were daily struggles for ordinary people.
Two childhood friends, Adamu Abubakar Nuhu and Ibrahim Abubakar Hashim, had watched their families, neighbours and communities struggle with these problems for years. They asked a simple question: "Why can't people in Potiskum shop online just as easily as people in Lagos?"
In 2024, they decided to do something about it. With a shared passion for technology and deep roots in the community, they launched Shago Express — an eCommerce platform built specifically for Northern Nigerians, with Cash on Delivery, WhatsApp ordering, Hausa language support, and reliable delivery.
The name "Shago" means "shop" in Hausa. "Siyayya ba Wahala" — Shopping Without Stress — became their promise to every customer.
